Library District #1 Doniphan County is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and passionate leader to serve as the Library Director. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and education in library management, budget development, and operations.
The Library Director must be personable, friendly, and outgoing and must also exhibit adaptability, flexibility, and innovative thinking to advance programs, increase patrons, and implement new ideas and technologies. Critical job responsibilities include community advocacy and outreach, relationship building, and program development. The library director must also provide leadership in the training, motivation, and professional development of staff and volunteers.
Completed Graduate Degree in Library and Information Science.
Will consider someone well along in the process of completing a graduate degree, depending on their level of relevant experience in library management.
Work Experience: Prefer at least three years of management experience in the areas of personnel, budget, library automation systems, and program development. Prefer experience in working with a board of directors and establishing community and municipal relationships.
This is a full time, salary exempt position that reports directly to the Board of Trustees. Starting salary range for this position is $46,500 to $48,000 based on qualifications.
