Summer Food for Kids

Summer Food Programs at the Library

This summer, we’ve partnered with two organizations to provide free meals and snacks throughout the week to kids at various branches in the county:

Elwood Library – Tuesdays through Fridays 4:00-4:30 pm

For the second year, we’ve partnered with Second Harvest to provide free healthy snacks for kids, four days a week, at the Elwood Library.  Children under the age of 18 eat completely free, from May 29 to August 10.  There is a small fee for adults if they would like a snack.

Wathena Library – Every Saturday 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Highland Library – Every Wednesday 11:00-11:30 am and 1:30-2:00 pm

Thanks to Catholic Charities of NE Kansas, the Wathena Library and the Highland Library will serve free lunch to kids one day a week all summer long, from May 26 to August 8.  Children under the age of 18 eat completely free and adults who bring a child may also eat free.
